“An Evening for Autism”

The facts are alarming.  1 in 150 children born today will be diagnosed with autism, and there is no known cause or cure for this disorder.

In May of 2008, a group of North Allegheny teachers, staff members, spouses, and friends put together a function to raise money for autism research.  All proceeds benefited Autism Speaks.  We worked, we stressed, and we are happy to report that the evening went perfectly.  Everyone who attended told us that they had an amazing time.

And most importantly - we were able to donate $10,000 to Autism Speaks thanks to all of those who gave donations.

It would be wonderful if our first annual benefit would be our last. We will continue to work until a cure is found.

Our next An Evening for Autism will consist of heavy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar and games. The event will take place on May 17, 2009 at Shannopin Country Club in Ben Avon Heights.  Save the date.

Please contact Sharon Volpe (svolpe@northallegheny.org) if you have any questions.  Information will be posted as soon as details are available.
