The North Allegheny Senior
High School Honors Chamber Choir membership is attained by audition
only. These same 49 singers are also members of the North Allegheny
Senior High School Concert Choir which enables them to have
two full periods of vocal instruction per day. The Chamber Choir
has enjoyed much success in past adjudications, competitions,
and tours while at the same time capturing the hearts and souls
of the surrounding Pittsburgh community with its ability to learn
and perform a large variety of different styles of music. The
group was founded by its director, Ernest M. Pontiere, in 1991
meeting only once a week after school with a handful of students.
As its popularity grew, it became part of the school
curriculum
and a scheduled class in 1993. |
