With over 1,100 students playing a string instrument at North Allegheny, our string program continues to grow. Our string staff consists of eight string teachers, most of whom teach students of multiple grade levels in multiple buildings. Our mission as a string department is to enrich our community with quality string education that includes a variety of performance opportunities beginning in grade three through grade twelve. Our vision is vertical, and we continue to build a comprehensive, cohesive string program that connects grades three through twelve. The Elementary Festival of Strings is a series of concerts that "connects" students in all grade levels for combined performances in which elementary and middle school students have the opportunity to perform "side by side" with the North Allegheny Golden Strolling Strings, a showcased performing group of the NAI and NASH orchestras.
