Mrs. Hall's music classes have been having fun learning to play the Orff barred instruments.  The special Orff melody instruments include wooden xylophones and metal metallophones and glockenspiels.  When they are played together in a small orchestra, this helps children become sensitive listeners and considerate participants.

Orff Schulwerk is a way to teach and learn music.  It is based on things children like to do:  sing, chant rhymes, clap, dance and keep a beat.  There is a place for every child and each contributes according to their ability.

Music classes will also learn to sing with hand signs, called Solfege.  This system of singing helps the student to improve their ability to match pitch and sing in tune.

Musical syllables match the steps of a musical scale.
