Bradford Woods Book Discussion Groups
For the past several years, we have had a lunchtime/recess Book Discussion Group for students in 4th and 5th grades. This has been a popular trend for adults, and the students who participate enjoy it as well.
A book is assigned for all the students in the group to read. We read a variety of books, all fiction and all chapter books. We then meet as a group once a month during lunch or recess. If we meet during lunch, the students bring their lunch that day and eat it while we discuss the book. During our meeting time, we will discuss the book and the author, and what the students liked and did not like about the book. There are no assignments associated with reading this book, and there are no grades given. This activity is purely for fun and to encourage reading!
