Bradford Woods Library Checkout Policies and Procedures

1.     All students in grades 1-5 are allowed to check out two library books each week.  Kindergarten students are allowed to check out one book each week.

2.     In order to encourage students who are learning to read, First and Second Graders are asked to checkout one book that they can read, and then the other book can be anything.

3.     All library books are due a week after they were checked out, unless that falls on a day off of school.  In that case, they are due the week after.

4.     Books can be renewed unless another person has placed that book on hold.

5.     Students can check out books anytime with their teachers’ permission – not just during library class.

6.     If a student forgets to return their book(s), they will not be allowed to check out any more book(s) until they are returned.

7.     If a child forgets their library book, we do allow them to look for a book and put it on hold for when they return their overdue book.  Books will be kept on hold for one week.

8.     Overdue notices will usually be sent every two weeks.  There are no overdue fines here at Bradford Woods Library, but if a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, a replacement cost will be charged.

9.     Parents can check books out of the Bradford Woods Library too!  We realize how far you are from Northland Public Library, so we offer parents the opportunity to visit us and check out books for their children.  If you are interested, please stop in and we’ll sign you up.  Parents are allowed to check out up to six books at a time.

If you ever have any questions about library policies and procedures, please do not hesitate to call or email.
