Intro Deutsch A – Kapitel Eins – Study Guide

Our first test has ten sections of 5 points each for a grand total of 50 points. The test will cover the areas of listening, reading, culture, and writing based on the material covered in the first chapter.

 

Listening

 

Part A – This section covers matching names and ages with the pictures provided. To prepare, know your numbers and how they sound. (Pages 25-27 – zweite Stufe)

 

Part B – This section covers matching names with German cities. To prepare, know the major cities of the German speaking countries and how they sound. (Page 27 – 2. Stufe)

 

Part C – This section covers interpreting what is said about people in German and then answering an a/b multiple-choice question based on the dialog. (all three parts of chap.)

 

Reading

 

Part D – This section covers answering matching questions based on the questions and answers we’ve learned in the chapter. For example – Wie heiίt du? – if you can pick the most appropriate answer from a list for this, then you’re ready. (SSMD boxes in chap.)

 

Part E – This section covers matching pictures and ways of getting to school using matching questions. (Dritte Stufe – page 30-31)

 

Part F – This section covers interpreting student information cards (Name, age, hometown, etc) by answering multiple-choice questions based on the card. (Whole chap.)

 

Culture

 

Part G – This section covers formal vs. informal greetings, their meanings, and when to use them in a multiple-choice format. (Erste Stufe – page 21) 

 

Part H – This section covers the geography of the German speaking countries in a multiple-choice format. (Vorschau – pages 1-3 and page 27)

 

Writing

 

Part I – This section covers writing introductions and questions based on student info cards (like Part F) - (Whole chap.)

 

Part J – This section covers how one would describe how 5 people get to school using various modes of transportation based on a labeled picture provided on the test. (Dritte Stufe – pages 30-31.)
