According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a Speech-Language Pathologist is a professional who has been trained to prevent, screen, identify, assess, diagnose, refer, provide intervention for, and counsel persons with, or who are at risk, for articulation, fluency, voice, language, communication, swallowing, and related disabilities.

If you are concerned your child may be experiencing a speech and language difficulty, you may contact your child's classroom teacher to request a speech and language screening or contact the speech-language pathologist at your child's school to request a screening.
